The proposed development comprises six retail units, two smaller kiosk units, and a retail food store on a site in the centre of Dorridge that is currently occupied by the Forest Court Shopping Precinct and on the edge of a Conservation Area.
All stakeholders have been engaged throughout the design development through a series of consultation events including workshops, public exhibitions and questionnaires. The aim of including a cross-section of the local community in discussions was to give them an opportunity to voice their needs and ideas, which could then be taken into consideration when developing the new proposals. The development team has worked hard to revise and refine the design and take on board feedback from these public discussions.
Members of DDRA have offered feedback in relation to the proposals presented. The meetings have allowed the opportunity to explore ideas and options before determining a preferred option. Considerable time has been spent understanding operational requirements, local concerns and the methods of calculating traffic flows and potential impact. All of the meetings have been constructive and the design has benefitted from this procedure.
