Under a framework agreement with Network Rail Chetwoods were asked to develop a comprehensive masterplan tying together a wide area of station, railway works and the adjacent town centre.
A variety of uses were envisaged on a linear plan form following the route of the mainline between London Paddington and Bristol and the South-West. Residential, commercial, a transport interchange and retail were combined with a re-use of existing listed former engine works to provide a viable and sustainable masterplan.
