The seven-floor 538,000 sqft building can accommodate at least 12,000 people at any one time.

The NEC is a nationally and internationally recognised focal point for commerce, trade and conferencing, as well as a top venue for leisure pursuits. It is well connected to road and rail networks, as well as lying adjacent to Birmingham International Airport.

Chetwoods acted as architectural design guardian for Genting on this mixed-use development. The scheme comprised a casino, cinema, conference centre, hotel and spa, designer retail outlet and F&B units with a 480 space multi-level car park. Our main role included monitoring compliance of the contractors’ proposals and quality of works on site. Additionally, we were appointed in a lead designer role on various elements within the main building, a design intent package for the hotel and reconfiguration of two car parks.
