This vibrant mixed use complex in the centre of High Wycombe improved the connectivity of the retail offer to the heart of the town. The scheme provided a 75,000 sqft foodstore together with parking for over 1000 cars.

Active frontages were introduced at street level and the scheme sympathetically linked with existing surrounding historic facades. A feature of the project is the large retained spiral car park ramp which has been reclad with structural glass channels creating a sculptural focal point.

The scheme was designed to achieve the Very Good BREEAM rating targeted by the client Sainsbury’s. Environmental initiatives include glazed thermal chimneys providing natural cooling, cold aisle retrieval reducing energy output and responsible specification of recycled materials.

Chetwoods masterplanned the entire site which will include future uses such as a hotel, further A3 units and a potential petrol filling station.
