Wrenbridge ‘Click’ Aylesford
300,000 sqft of industrial space across six units with ancillary office accommodations, designed to create an enhanced and attractive working environment, complemented by extensive landscaping, car parking, servicing, and access arrangements.
Sustainability is at the core of the development, achieving carbon-neutral status in terms of energy and reducing CO2 emissions by 537 tonnes pa. Key measures include air source heat pumps and 6,370 m² of photovoltaic panels on office rooftops, with performance monitoring displayed in each unit's lobby. Additional reductions in carbon emissions are achieved through an enhanced building envelope and the use of LED lighting throughout.
The design is expected to result in substantial energy cost savings, with an estimated annual reduction of over £500,000 across the entire development—equivalent to approximately £1.81 per sqft per year.
The site also offers significant biodiversity net gains, including the management of existing woodland, the creation and enhancement of wetland habitats, and the introduction of new roosting opportunities for bats and diverse nesting habitats for birds. Newly designed landscapes along roads and in courtyards, coupled with a network of footpaths and ancient woodland walks, enhance public access and connectivity. Street trees, grass, and shrub mixes, along with SuDS habitats, expand the green corridors that link wildlife habitats. Mitigation measures include sensitive lighting schemes, construction safeguards for small mammals, and pollution prevention strategies. The cycle shelters, featuring green roofs, further support biodiversity.
Wellbeing is central to the project, with breakout and amenity spaces, including an outdoor gym and seating areas. These spaces offer opportunities for relaxation, socialisation, and connection with nature. Open boundaries allow for occasional public use, extending benefits to the broader community.
