Supplying more than 350 Iceland and Iceland Food Warehouse stores from the north east down to Wales and Birmingham. At 500,000 sqft the unit is bigger than eight football pitches. During peak demand season, the site can employ in excess of 700 people.

The building has been designed with a single barrel vault roof to avoid the need for gutters, and the use of lighter grey horizontal bands on the façade reduces its visual bulk. The warehouse has a chill and freezer store with range of chiller areas and ancillary office and recreational facilities including a gym and a well-equipped canteen to foster exercise and relaxation.

The building has been designed to optimise its sustainability including a 50% photovoltaic roof, material specification to achieve maximum efficiency over the building lifecycle, and the selection of materials with a recycled content higher than standard non-recyclables of a similar nature.
