The development includes a 124,000 sqft tray wash and recycling warehouse, associated fuel and wash facilities and an LNG fuel facility.

The site incorporates a combined heat and power plant within the ASC, PV panelling, a total of 500,000l of rainwater harvesting tanks and LED lighting externally and within the freezer chamber. Energy-efficient design considered orientation, insulation, colour of materials, and lighting to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.

The CDC covers the South West of England area, handling three million cases of chilled goods per week and assisting Asda in raising efficiency and reducing costs.
