Goodman Hamburg Billbrook
In a move away from the standard single-storey typology for logistics buildings, our team was asked by logistics property group Goodman to develop concepts for a multi-level logistics centre with ancillary office space, located in an urban setting and ideally suited for last mile logistics due to its proximity to customers in Hamburg Billbrook.
The design maximises the use of space on the individual levels, by incorporating flexible and vertical traffic management features. These include straight and spiral ramps, cantilevered delivery and parking decks, and connecting bridge structures.
To deliver the innovative approach that our client was seeking, the scheme incorporates supplementary leisure activities and recreation areas, together with wellbeing features for staff, and biodiversity enhancing landscaping.
Reflecting Goodman’s Green Space+ initiative towards building and operating circular, net-positive spaces, the scheme showcases extensive innovative sustainability ideas. These include energy efficient lighting, EV charging stations, smart meters, efficient water management and PV solar installations. The project achieves DGNB-Gold/BREEAM.
